Kye, of KYE-YAC International, hosts KARK telethon for the Arkansas Rice Depot

Thousands of Arkansas children will go to bed with a full stomach thanks to many people from all over Arkansas calling in pledges to the August 22nd telethon for the Arkansas Rice Depot. In all, over $44,000 was given to the Arkansas Rice Depot.  KYE-YAC donated a whopping $14,000 dollars to the telethon.  Kye, President of KYE-YAC helped the KARK-TV anchors host part of the telethon.  The day long telethon also produced a generous check from Skippy Peanut Butter totalling $11,000.

Thousands of hungry children will be fed for a year due to the success of the telethon and the generosity of Arkansans.   "What this telethon has done, I think, has proven to me and to everyone that watches this broadcast, that the people in Arkansas care about their neighbors. They care about hunger around them and they're not willing to let a child go hungry," says Arkansas Rice Depot CEO Laura Rhea.

Over thirty-two thousand children a year depend on the Rice Depot for food.
