It felt like Christmas in springtime for many young Garland County students at the Hot Springs Boys and Girls Club.? Bookcases for Our Children and KYE-YAC teamed up once again this year to hand out colorful bags of wonderful books and beautiful bookcases to scores of excited young readers.? The ?reading buddy? teddy bears were a big hit too in this extremely successful literacy program that gives away thousands of books to children along with their very own personalized bookcase.
The kids who were chosen to participate in the annual literacy program are avid readers who demonstrate financial need.? It is no doubt that through reading, a child’s life is enhanced and our future is brighter with more kids having access to literary resources!
KYE-YAC and its many volunteers delivered the remaining books and bookcases to the children at their schools throughout the county.? KYE-YAC is committed to fostering the love of reading in youth and strongly believes increasing the literacy rate with our youth is a great step toward a brighter future.
