KYE-YAC’s Roots & Shoots group took their mentoring project outdoors with a local Girl Scouts group who wanted to learn about chimpanzees and the work of Dr. Goodall.? We read to them and taught them how chimps vocalize and use facial expressions to communicate. The book about Dr. Goodall recieved an enthusiastic responce and inspired the girls to take turns giving hugs to a replica of Mr. H, the stuffed chimp she always carries with her around the world. The girls were excited to learn and earn their wildlife badge.
